ProofPass

Verify a document.

Choose a data sheet as a PDF and see whether a manufacturer published it unchanged on ProofPass and whether it is still the current version. The file itself stays on your device.

Want to check a safety data sheet for completeness? Use the SDS check.

Questions about the check

What is the check for?

You received a data sheet by email or found it in an archive, and you want to know whether it is the version the manufacturer published and whether it still applies. The check tells you within seconds and, for a replaced version, leads you to the new one.

How does it work?

Your browser calculates a SHA-256 checksum from the file, a kind of fingerprint. Only that value reaches us. We compare it with the versions manufacturers stored when uploading.

What does "We do not know this file" mean?

Not that it is wrong. The manufacturer may not use ProofPass, or the file has changed. Even saving it again in a PDF program changes the fingerprint. If in doubt, ask the manufacturer.

Which manufacturers are shown?

Only manufacturers we have confirmed as genuine, and only visible products. That way nobody can have a forgery confirmed through a newly created account.

Does this prove the content is right?

No. It shows the file was published unchanged. The manufacturer stays responsible for the content.
